Boston By Foot

There are some great summer time things to do in the late afternoon. One of these is the bostonbyfoot tour where you will walk from the golden dome of the State House to the elegant homes of Louisburg Square. Seeing the rustic and old English architecture on the Beacon Hill tour as you see where Charles Bulfinch made his mark. You also learn the story of Beacon Hill, from its rural beginnings to the vision of the Mount Vernon Proprietors to the historic collection of Federal and Greek Revival row houses. BostonbyFoot’s Beacon Hill walking tour is an introduction to early American architecture. You will also hear the stories of Boston’s prominent citizens who have called Beacon Hill their home. The best part is the tours are offered early in the evening during the week. This is a great way to a walk through the shaded streets of Beacon Hill as you can schedule it around other activities. When you are done you can enjoy dinner in one of Charles Street’s fine restaurants you have your choice of Artu, King and I, Dante and Lala Rokh. Our favorite is the Italian Steakhouse Toscano Restaurant. The tour cost $12 for an adult and $8 for a challenge.
